HPAL Tip of the Week:
Guard against identity theft.
While it’s necessary to keep tax records for an extended period of time, shredding old bills, bank documents and receipts for small purchases can help protect your financial information and identity. When investing in a shredder for your home or office, consider one that cross cuts (cuts in two directions). If your shredder can’t handle plastic, use scissors to cut up expired credit cards and identification before discarding them.
You are encouraged to use these weekly tips on your website, social media pages or in other communication with your members to illustrate one more way credit unions help people afford life.
