HPAL Tip of the Week:
Establish a separate account for non-necessities.
Set aside a certain amount of money each month that you plan to spend on splurges. Once you’ve decided how much money you want to spend each month on non-essential purchases, set up a different checking account with those funds. Consider having your credit union transfer the funds automatically. This will help you manage how much money is necessary for living expenses and how much you have to play with each month.
You are encouraged to use these weekly tips on your website, social media pages or in other communication with your members to illustrate one more way credit unions help people afford life. If you have a tip you would like to share with the HPAL Listserve, please email to firstname.lastname@example.org. When sending an email it is sent to everyone on the list.
