It’s difficult to set and stick to a budget. Add the holidays to that and it can be downright impossible — and stress inducing!
According to an article by Hadley Malcolm, USA TODAY, consumers charged an average of about $5,400 to credit cards during the fourth quarter in the past four years. And U.S. shoppers are expected to spend about $805 each during the holidays this year, according to the National Retail Federation.
“Staying on track when you’re bombarded with enticing deals for two months straight can be difficult,” Malcolm writes. “Which is why savvy holiday shoppers need a game plan.”
Malcolm offers advice on how to break down holiday spending, plus gives a rundown of the days with the best deals. Some of her tips include writing everything down before venturing out, having a separate holiday checking account and taking advantage of Cyber Monday deals.
