HPAL Tip of the Week: Emergency preparedness.
In the event of a disaster like a fire or tornado, are you prepared to chronicle what you own for the insurance company? If you haven’t taken video or photos of your property, consider doing that now. Take shots of each room and make sure to include expensive items such as flat screen TVs and computers. Some valuables, such as jewelry, should be appraised. Keep the photos and written appraisals in a fireproof safe or safety deposit box.
You are encouraged to use these weekly tips on your website, social media pages or in other communication with your members to illustrate one more way credit unions help people afford life. If you have a tip you would like to share with the HPAL Listserve, please email to firstname.lastname@example.org. When sending an email it is sent to everyone on the list.
